Cut-out
Cut-out flat pack bookshelf is a result of design challenge. The goal was to find the best cutting and assembly scheme which results in stable structure that can be used as a shelf. The prototype was realized by cutting out a single panel of max compact board on a CNC milling machine.

This shelf was a sort of design challenge — how to create coherent spatial 3D structure from 2D material by placing cut-outs on strategic points. We came up with design that has minimal waste and can be assembled without tools or fittings. The flat-pack nature of the project provides economic transport. Production requires high precision CNC cutting tools but reduces material waste. Prototype is made from 8mm thin durable HPL - high pressure laminate board.

Shelves can be lined up and connected resulting in a rhythmical structure. The transparent appearance makes them suitable for use as a room divider.
